Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 27, 2025

We respect the sensitive nature of legal research. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your data.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and phone number (for verification).
  • Usage Data: Cases viewed, documents downloaded, and queries sent to the AI assistant.
  • Payment Data: We do not store credit card numbers. All payments are processed via Stripe.

2. How We Use AI (Data Processing)

When you ask Lexi a question or request a summary, the text of the court document and your question are processed by third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic).

Zero-Training Policy

We have configured our API agreements to ensure your data is NOT used to train public AI models. Your legal queries remain private to your session.

3. Research Confidentiality

We understand that the mere act of searching for a case can be sensitive. We do not sell your search history, case watchlists, or document download logs to third parties or advertising networks.

4. Third-Party Subprocessors

We use the following trusted services to run AskLexi:

  • Clerk: For authentication and user management.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL): For database storage.
  • Stripe: For payment processing.
  • PACER: For retrieving public court records.

5. Data Deletion

You may request the deletion of your account and associated search history at any time by emailing privacy@asklexi.com. Note that we cannot delete records from the public federal court system, only from our own servers.
